Case Study: Kimberley Killeen - Using eLearning to support study
Kimberley always wanted to be in the health and fitness Industry and she began making strides into the profession from an early age.
By the age of 18 she
already had accredited Level 2 Gym and Exercise to Music, and Level
3 Personal Training qualifications under her belt, as well as a
Kettle Bell qualification.
Working as a personal trainer whilst completing her sports
studies degree at the University of Gloucestershire, Kimberley
decided to take her career to the next level after graduating and
landed a position at The Training Room.
The Training Room is a specialist provider of personal training
courses, and Kimberly bolstered her teaching repertoire with
spinning, circuits, gym-based boxing and nutrition, and now runs
Level 2 Gym Instructing and Level 3 Personal Training diploma
courses for The Training Room.
Continuing her great work with The Training Room, Kimberley
recently completed a Level 3 Assessor Award using the new Active IQ
Academy online resources to support her study. This Assessor
qualification will allow her to assess the skills, knowledge,
technical understanding and occupational competence of the next
generation of personal trainers.
She comments: "Throughout my career I have been conscious that
the more qualifications I am able to take, the more options I will
have in the industry. Active IQ offers the most prestigious health
and fitness accreditations around, and I know that this has played
a big role in enabling me to get where I am today.
By the same token, I wouldn't have been able to achieve these
qualifications without Active IQ Academy's eLearning; the freedom
of learning online with the Academy has allowed me to study around
my other commitments, and gave me a wealth of specialised knowledge
at my fingertips. I'll be using the Academy again as soon as I'm
ready to take on a quality assurance role."
